The Hat Bar
The Hat Bar at The Mercantile Ouray is a great way to create your one-of-a-kind gift or souvenir of your time in Ouray, Colorado. You choose your hat, then we help you customize it with a curated selection of hat bands, feathers, pins and more. We also do custom branding and hand-lettering so you have a hat that’s truly personalized for you.
We currently accept walk-ins for the hat bar and are not accepting individual appointments at this time.
How it Works
Step 1
Choose a base hat. Try on as many as you like, and let us know if you need a different size.
Vegan Suede - $70
100% Wool Cashmere - $170
Step 2
Select your add-ons and put them in your basket.
We recommend starting with:
1 hat band or 1-2 ribbons.
1-2 lapel-style pins.
1-2 feathers.
Add more if it strikes your fancy! We’re happy to offer suggestions if you would like.
Priced à la carte as marked, $5-$40
Step 3
Choose your branding or hand-burned lettering. Decide what you’d like branded on your hat and where it should go.
We suggest your initials and/or a symbol, placed on the inside brim or the front or side of the outer crown.
$10 per brand/hand-burned character
Step 4
Watch your hat being assembled and branded, and enjoy your very own custom-made, one-of-a-kind hat from Ouray!
