About Us

We are one of so many families who have found magic in this amazing town in Southwestern Colorado. Our hope is that this little store of ours brings the magic of Ouray, of Colorado, and of the west to everyone who steps foot inside - every thing we pick is with that in mind.

We live full-time in Ouray, and moved here from Denver in 2023 in search of a small-town mountain community for our family. We truly hit the jackpot in Ouray - it’s the best community and the most incredible place to live.

Kelly was born and raised in Colorado, and brings 12 years of retail, buying, and marketing experience to The Mercantile Ouray - along with an obsession for turquoise jewelry and western art. Josh is originally from Philadelphia (but now a complete western convert!) and brings career-long expertise in operations - and a love of leather goods and great western music.
